Wild Shape (At Will Minor Personal ✦ Polymorph, Primal)
Effect: You change from your humanoid form to beast form or vice versa. When you change from beast form back to your humanoid form, you can shift 1 square. While you are in beast form, you can't use attack, utility, or feat powers that lack the beast form keyword, although you can sustain such powers. You choose a specific form whenever you use wild shape to change into beast form. The beast form is your size, resembles a natural beast or a fey beast, and normally doesn't change your game statistics. Your equipment becomes part of your beast form, but you drop anything you are holding, except implements you can use. You continue to gain the benefits of the equipment you wear. You can use the properties and the powers of implements as well as magic items that you wear, but not the properties or the powers of weapons or the powers of wondrous items. Kathalia often has her head in the clouds, and is easily distracted. She is friendly in a creepy, earth-mothery sort of way. She is school-girlish in her mannerisms, and appears emotionally underdeveloped. Her everyday personality seems to have little connection with the ferocious feral wolf she transforms into - she rarely talks about her 'doggy' self. She is deeply connected with the natural world - perhaps a little too connected.

Kathalia is diminutive, and carries a small wooden rod festooned with various bits of growing things (mushrooms, leaves, bugs...) she finds in her travels. Her skin is extremely pale and her eyes are hazel.

Hooks[]

Though she never talks about her past, Kathalia's life was deeply scarred when, in her youth, both her parents and her two sisters were murdered. The details are not clear, and the case was never solved. Kathalia nearly went mad (some would say she is mad), and successively fled the care of several well-meaning elves as she was growing up.

Kicker[]

Kathalia isn't sure what she seeks exactly. Something new. She would tell you she seeks more wisdom, more unity with the earth... blah blah blah. If she were more honest, she would tell you that she loves the excitement of the hunt. And that she is looking to grow up a little.

  • I'm not entirely sure what to do about your rituals. Do you get another one in place of Animal Messenger? Can you cast AM even without the Ritual Caster feat? Maybe something to bring up in the discussion thread. I think what you've done is a reasonable compromise for now.
  • Kathalia reminds me rather fondly of another character in a different universe.  :)

  • Math > Feats > Corellon's Blessing. Changed wording from "When hit with elven accuracy" to "When hitting with elven accuracy" to avoid confusion. ;)
  • Math > Powers Known. Corrected "Predator's Fury" to "Predator's Flurry" (correct in Summary).
  • Summary > XP. Corrected starting XP from 0 to 2250.
  • I'm unsure about how Kathalia was made, sorry. Tander retired as level 3 and then chose option B to replace him, right? Wouldn't that make Kathalia's starting gold 1750 - 840 (level 4 item) = 910 gp? Very sorry to bring this up, nerdytenor, but that seems to be how the charter presents it (please correct me if I'm wrong!).
  • The Ritual-Alchemy interaction does seem a bit fuzzy, but I get the impression you're entitled to another level 1 formula. That way, you'd start with two level 1 formulas just like a druid ritualist starts with two level 1 rituals.

With DM resolving the gold discrepancy as in-game reward, I don't have any reason to hold Kathalia from approval. She's a fun doggie to roll with!
