Appearance and Personality

As a tiefling, Jezebel possesses mostly human features with some fiendish qualities. On the human side, she has pale skin, toned muscles, and normal, non-cloven feet. She is slightly tall and of average weight for her age. From Jezebel's fiendish bloodline, she has inherited short, black horns that jut down from over the ears and curve down to a few inches from the chin, forming something of a circle when viewed from her front. She has a thick, leathery, non-prehensile tail that starts off about 6 inches thick and tapers off to a point 4 feet away. Her hair and eyes are of normal human structure, but both possess an otherworldly purple color. Most striking of all are her pupils which have a faint red glow.

Jezebel holds a deep belief that there is something wrong with the world. Wherever she goes, she has a talent for seeing the silent suffering, the misery, the hatred that people hold. This can verge on paranoia depending on her mood, as she sometimes imagines hostility toward her where none exists. Rather than give up in the face of such a broken world, Jezebel is resolved to reforge it into something more appropriate, or destroy it in the process. She is quick to violence, especially when she believes her enemy has somehow hurt an innocent (what few of those there are).

Background
Jezebel hails from The Kingdom of Jade, or what is left of it after its long years of fighting the oni incursions. She was born alongside an identical twin sister, Ilse, and were the only children of the family. The sisters never knew their father, presumably a Tiefling himself, having been raised solely by their human mother. Their mother viewed the twin fiends as an dire omen, but she decided to keep the children nonetheless, believing she could lead them away from the call of their tainted blood. For the early years, she was successful; the sisters were close and were showered with attention.

The Kingdom of Jade's policy of military rule sometimes led to excesses on the part of the peacekeeping soldiers. The family was already ostracized and isolated by the other citizens, and there was no considerable outcry when one day, a squad of soldiers looking to have "some fun" followed the sisters home. Their captain, a young man with pure white hair and an unforgettably menacing grin, led the troops inside. In the aftermath of the invasion, Jezebel's mother lay dead on the ground, Jezebel nearly bled out herself, and Ilse was missing entirely. After she mended from her injuries, Jezebel tried to exact justice on the attackers, but the entire event was deemed to be the result of yet another a demon attack. No one seemed to know what became of Ilse, though one soldier intimated that Tiefling girls were worth quite a bit to the right people.

Seeing no other recourse, Jezebel decided to settle for vengeance. With the help of a band of other disreputable Tieflings - assassins and thieves mostly - Jezebel arranged for an induction into the dark faith from an oni associate. The training took her beyond the city's walls - into oni territory -, and it was a test of brutality as much as it was one of endurance. After becoming a dark paladin, she began her hunt. Jezebel murdered the first of the soldiers in his sleep while she was only 18. Two more deaths followed before the pattern was noticed by her targets. The young captain and four of his subordinates soon disappeared from the Kingdom and were lost to Jezebel. She has pursued them for years after that, only catching faint hints at best of their whereabouts. Meanwhile, her purse is almost empty (there's not a lot of money in revenge).
